Futura Free got its start in the summer of 2018 in Kingston, Ontario. Having just moved to a completely new city without much of a plan, Futura Free was started by Peter Luft in a makeshift studio space in his girlfriend's basement. It didn't take long for Peter to start working on new material with Kevin Feeley (guitar), and the two soon drafted Bobby Benevides on drums. Gabriel Reeves (bass) was the last to jump onboard, completing Futura Free's shift from a solo recording project to fully fledged indie rock band.
